Do I need to do any sterilisation on my filter?

thumbnail

Sterilizing the water filter is an important step in ensuring its hygiene and proper operation. Most people think that using a water filter is enough to provide clean and safe water, but the truth is that filter maintenance and sterilization are equally important.

One of the most common points of contamination in a filter device is the spout or suction from which the filtered water comes out. The suction can come into contact with various surfaces and objects, increasing the risk of contamination. The sterilisation of the runny nose can be done with simple procedures and materials available in every household such as white spirit.

Why is it important to sterilize the rouge?

The suction of the water filter device is vulnerable to contamination by microbes and bacteria. This can happen when someone touches it with unclean hands or when it comes into contact with food such as meat. Even if the water being filtered is clean, contact of the spout with contaminated surfaces can transfer germs to the water you drink.

How to sterilize the suction of the water filter device

Yes! It is advisable once a week to put alcohol in the mouthpiece and internally in the suction of the device (externally and internally). The reason is that there is a possibility that someone with unclean hands or even some food, e.g. meat, could unintentionally touch the nozzle and contaminate it. So with alcohol or another sterilizing agent you sterilize the runny nose internally and externally. Ask to have your consultant explain the procedure to you and your consultant.

Sterilisation process:

  1. Preparation: Make sure you have all the necessary materials: clean alcohol (or other sterilizing agent) and a long brush.
  2. Cleaning outside: Dip a cotton ball or cloth in the alcohol and carefully clean the outside of the rune. Pay particular attention to the corners and crevices where germs can accumulate.
  3. Cleaning internally: Using a long brush soaked in alcohol, clean the inside of the rune. Insert the brush into the mouthpiece and rotate it to remove germs if present from the inner surfaces.
  4. Allow to dry: Allow the snorkel to dry naturally before using it again. The alcohol evaporates quickly, but it is important to make sure it is completely dry.

Advice and precautions:

  • Regular maintenance: In addition to weekly sterilization of the runny tube, make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for maintenance and replacement of the water filter within one year.
  • Clean hands: Always wash your hands before touching the suction or any other part of the filter device.
  • Update: Ask your local adviser for more information and instructions on sterilisation and maintenance of your appliance. The adviser can provide you with expert advice and guide you through the correct procedure.

The sterilization of the water filter and especially of the pump is a simple but effective step to ensure the hygiene and safety of drinking water. With regular sterilization and proper maintenance, you can enjoy clean and safe water every day. Every time the filter is changed by a Camelot competent person, in addition to replacing the filter, the run is sterilized and the device is cleaned.
